My obd2 doesn't have fuel trim readings. Installed new pcv valve..runs somewhat better. The rpms smooth out better than before, but doesn't stay constant. 1st video is after pcv valve was on for 5 minutes. 2and video after 10 minutes, stayed at the 1500's rpm till I shut it down, about 15 minutes later..at 1 time i actually got a code..

Tried to upload videos, but wont let me..put on new pcv valve..runs some better..starts idling real high..after a few minutes dropped down to 1300s and then went to 1500s after another 5 minutes and stayed there till I shut it down 20 minutes later..has flashed me 1 code..the idle still doesn't sit at a smooth spot ,moves up and down in various increments..have hard would it be to hook up a dash tach?

5.1 at idle..giving it quarter to half throttle 5.2-5.3.
Reference wire getting 00.1.
Ground wire getting 00.1.
Now getting 2 codes p1120 manufacturer control and p0122 throttle circuit low.

The signal is the issue.

It should be .5 at idle. This is with the connector connected to the TPS and you back probing the connector.

As you accelerate, the voltage should rise to a max of 4.8 volts.

Had it connected to the sensor and worked the probe into the wire casing, red wire. black wire to battery ground. this is a new sensor.

The gray/white, which is the signal wire is the one that should have 5 volts disconnected and the key on.

At closed throttle, it should have .5 volts connected and the key on.

That is the wire that the voltage should rise to 4.8 at wide open throttle.

When I said red wire I meant I used red probe into gray/white wire that is plugged into the TPS.

Okay,

What was the result with that wire for the testing I just suggested?

Are you sure you are on the right wire? It sounds like you are on the reference wire, not the signal wire.

The gray/white wire is the one that needs the varying voltage. If it is constant then the TPS is no good.

Check for voltage on that wire with the connector off the TPS as well with the key on.

We are going off track here.

But the gray/white was the one staying in the 5 volt range. tried with multi-meter set on 10 and 20. to see if any change. Wasn't any.

Okay, how you test it is to turn it off. Then turn the key on, back probe the signal wire and check the volts at idle and open to wide open and watch the voltage change.

The videos were not good. 3/4 of them were cut off.

Once you pass 1/3 idle the engine starts to rock back and forth.when I first tested it. it was a little over 5 volts at idle. but when you start to accelerate it still doesn't drop voltage.

You are not listening to me.

I said turn off the engine. This test is not done with it running. Just turn the key to the on position and test the voltage by moving the throttle on the throttle body. Again, the engine is not running.

Test it that way.

Okay, i.21 is too high. It should be .5 to .75 and 4.8 at wide-open throttle.

Can you adjust the sensor? Does it have slots on the sensor at the screws for adjustment?
