Okay Roy. the new Delphi came in late today. got it installed but still got problems. uploading videos of pressure at fuel rail and voltage while running. pressure running at 28psi and voltage or 13.

Did you clamp off the return line and check the pressure?

I want to see if it dead heads at over 50 pounds.

Did't last night. be at work all day today. will check late this afternoon. starting to think maybe the regulator I got from partsgeek.com not strong enough. already backtracked and ordered another one rated at 40 psi from advance auto parts. the pressure at the valve was only 28 running and when it shut off it jumped up to 32. but this one didn't drop like the last one it held pressure and the voltage at the pump with switch on was over 12 and running was over 13. this is starting to aggravate me, really stressing. thanks for the help and any future help. slow typer. this would be so much better on streaming or phone. have a good and blessed day, Roy.

Hey Roy, got in my new BWD pressure regulator. now it goes up to 22psi while running and 32psi when it shuts off. clamped off fuel return line at pump and it goes up to 120-130psi bouncing back and forth. so, replaced new Airtex pump with new Delphi and new regulator with new BWD and still shutting off.

Good morning Roy. Were you able to read last nights message and figure out what to do?

This is really confusing that the pressure will not come up to spec.

The dead head pressure is good. It is almost to the point that you need to get an adjustable regulator to get the correct pressure.

I am on it. I did not forget you.

I am looking at other options to get this pressure to where it should be.

Okay, question for you.

Did you replace the entire unit or just the pump?

I saw one assembly that had a regulator on the tube from the pump to the outlet to the front of the truck?

Replace the whole assembly fuel pump, Delphi brand name for extended cab Ranger and the new BWD regulator that specs for 40psi.

My truck listed above splash has extended cab. so if they asked if it was or wasn't, when purchasing parts..I stated that it was extended. Because it has backseats.

Just out of curiosity, remove the vacuum line from the regulator and see what happens to the pressure.

It should go up.

Pressure goes from 22 to around 32, but it runs a little rough. tried that yesterday.

That was running attached. when I pulled it it went to 32 psi, but not great idle.

That could be from the vacuum leak from the hose.

How does it sound other than rough idle. Does it accelerate?

That is where I was heading.

It seems for some reason the regulator will not allow the proper pressure to build.

Put it together and see how it runs.

Vacuum line and regulator both plugged..running at a constant 32 psi..started off idling high..now its dropped down on idle..but not real smooth..can hear it pulsing, up and down and sounding like any minute it will stop and die suddenly

Was running at a constant 32 psi for about 8 -10 minutes and just shut off. pressure dropped to 28 psi and holding. this is with the regulator and vacuum line plugged.

Okay, when it shuts off, does it start right back up? Do you think the spark may be dropping out?

See if the tachometer drops out when it stalls.

Will start right back, but ran shorter time before it shut off and unless I hook up the obd2 to it ..it don't have a tachometer or rpm readout.

Okay, I am beginning to think it is a spark issue.

We have gone over so much, did you replace the crank sensor?

Roy

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
All functions of the ignition control module are contained in the power-train control module. The Ignition Control Module (ICM) receives the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) signal from the CKP sensor. It processes the CKP signal into Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) information and transmits it to the Power-train Control Module (PCM). The PCM processes the PIP signal along with signals received from the Throttle Position (TP) sensor, Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, Octane Adjust (OCT ADJ), barometric pressure sensor, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), and Brake On-Off (BOO) switch according to a spark advance map programmed into the PCM. The PCM produces a Spark Output (SPOUT) signal which it sends back to the ICM. Using the SPOUT and CKP information, the ICM switches primary current to the ignition coils among the three ignition coils and provides the optimum amount of spark advance and dwell. The ICM module also sends back to the PCM an Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) signal which the PCM uses to indicate a failure mode and which is also used to provide an RPM signal to the instrument panel tachometer.

Does this model have a fuel pump driver module or is it built in to the ECM?

The cam sensor will bot cause it to dies out like that. Even if it fails while the engine is running, it will stay running until you shut it off.

Then it will not restart.

No, it does not have a driver module at all. The ECM is a switch to turn it on and off.

1995 was way too early for that kind of electronics.
