Hello, I have the car listed above that I'm working on and I need to know what size is the lug nut that came of the coil pack plate? It's two nuts and I lost them. I think I took a 13mm to get them off but to replace them what size is the thread? Not the bolts on the coil packs but the two lug nuts that hold the coil pack plate on.

Good morning,

They are 8 mm, 1.25 thread pitch.

You can get them at any parts store or hardware store.

The size wrench or socket will be 13mm.

Is that the information you need?

The stud size is 8mm 1.25 by 1 1/2 inches.

I attached the wire location for the coils and the cylinder identification.

So I disconnected my fuel rail to fix somethings. how do I know if I have them connected correctly? It's not starting now like I may have them mixed up. what would be the danger if I have the fuel rail hoses crossed up and try to start?

So I took of the fuel lines, air box, MAP sensor, fuel injection system and cleaned up the engine. tried to put it all back together some I marked some like the fuel lines I didn't now it started but running very rough and a few pieces of metal shot out the tail pipe red hot. Also I got a check engine code light on with this code.

okay, the fuel lines are correct.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

I do not like the metal out the tail pipe. I would do a compression test to see if something got into the engine and went out the back.

Do you have spark to the plugs?

Okay. well I appreciate the help, it's just annoying that I did all this work and the car isn't running properly. It was running just fine until I tool it apart, lol. but it must be something simple, maybe the firing order has it running rough. but why do you think those pieces came out the exhaust? It came out red hot and it's crated like it came from my catalytic converter.

That is why I suggested a compression test to be sure nothing got into the intake system.

Hey Roy, so update: compression test fine it was my firing order that was right so I switched the spark plug wires and vroom! But I have a cylinder 6 misfire code if it isn't one thing its the next, lol. so I'm going to just buy one spark plug even though I just changed them all. they are all brand new but one spark wouldn't hurt to get the car running. right?

Okay, so update: i changed the spark and still have the p0306 cylinder 6 misfire code, and I also have a gas leak somewhere. I can smell it and when I pulled it out the drive way. I could see a spot where it was leaking looks like it came from the engine somewhere. Geez I'm getting so frustrated with this car.

Did you do a compression test on number 6? You need 140-160.

Do not drive the car with a fuel leak. It could catch fire very easily.

Check around the injectors for a leak. I attached a picture for you of the rail.

Can't really see where the leak is coming from the fuel injection system looks fine and dry. it is dripping down near my oil pan just can't see where it's coming from. how would I know if I hooked the fuel rails to the fuel injection system up correctly? If I crossed them up would it even start? This is so annoying i'm ready to drive this car, but the leak is my issue.

Look carefully around the fuel rail where the injectors attached. Make sure you do not see any fuel leaking.

Check the lines to the rail as well. Make sure there is not leaks where the hoses connect.

What would be my risk, hazards etc., of turning the key on engine off to find the leak? I turned the key on with engine off to prime the fuel pump and sure enough i saw the gas dripping out near the oil pan hitting the ground. But I can't really find where it's coming from. Would there be any danger of finding the leak by doing the key on engine off to prime the fuel pump?

Do not start the motor.

It should be coming from the top of the motor.

Have someone turn the key on while you look. The pump will only run for 2 seconds.

I wouldn't think of starting the motor at all, too risky with a gas leak but wouldn't it be okay with turning the key on engine of to prime the fuel pump to check for a leak? I won't start the motor at all but key on engine off would it be risky?

I can't see anything that would have it leaking but you know after doing a little research I just may have those fuel lines that goes into the fuel injection rail mixed up and that's possibly why it's leaking? So I'm going to pull of the two fuel lines and switch them then key on engine off tonprime the fuel pump and check for leaks what do you think? Good idea? Any risks in switching them id have to worry about?

Give it a try. They should be locked on the rail.

You will not damage anything if it is them.

Just make sure they are secure and clean off the engine the best you can of any excess fuel.
