Hi ASE Roy and Caradio, I have a another question for you fellas. Is there anyway to beef up that heater? While it works fine, I’m just looking for more heat. I’m getting old and my bones need heat!!!
Hi there.
You could flush the heater core with a garden hose to be sure all the dirt and debris is out.
Also, replace the thermostat to be sure the engine is up to temperature. That will help.

As a point of interest, I have a friend with a diesel truck that has been developing less and less hot air over the years, and flushing the heater core didn't help. A few weeks ago he flushed it with toilet bowl cleaner costing about two bucks a bottle. He was amazed. The heater works as well as when the truck was new, and he's getting burned out now, even when it's below zero outside.
