They use individual coil packs for each cylinder. Remove the plastic engine cover and you will see the 4 coil packs. They are bolted to the cylinder head. Here are the engine wiring diagrams with a guide to help you check them below.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I need a diagram of a coil on plug transistor for a 00 corolla. I think the transistor is part of the coil and not the PCM, Is that true?
Is this transistor PNP or NPN? also what is the base/trigger voltage value. Thanks!

crank position sensor is 1630-2740oms cold and 2065-3225 ohms hot cold temp is 14-122F and hot is 122-212 F the oil is allone piece. there is also a cam sensor and this shold be scanned for codes and fuel pressure checked first if it doesn't run cam sensor is 835-1400 and hot 1060-11645 hot

My daughters car had an intermittent starting problem. A very astute mechanic discovered that, after the car was wrecked, a previous owner/mechanic had just stuffed the ECU? (my mechanic called it the PCM) into the console without it being in its case or being secured it place. He fix it and it worked well. A year goes by, daughter in different city, and it starts to do it again. I am assuming a broken wire in the harness connecting to the ECU/PCM box. QUESTION: How do I get to this unit to replace the wiring harness(es). What is the best way to verify which harness is the culprit? Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

This loom,is a one piece loom and changing it would entail basically stripping the car down to its near bear frame, so repairing the problem is a better option, if you run a diagnostic scan you may get a code that will reflect the problem and then we can have a better chance to identify the suspect wire/s start here.

The black wire on the injector harness connector is the hot side-the one that don't have power get a jumper wire and splice into another injector harness connector black wire and see what happens

The black wire on each injector is the power-it won't affect the F/O of the injectors they all tied into a splice look at the diagram-

Also try pulling the code/s from the computer

I was just asking because I use to be able to use a paper clip and you could use it as a jumper at the plug on the inside of the car on GM models then the code would flash at check engine light. If it turns out your info. will help me to correct problem I will be happy to make a donation for your help. But right now funds are low as I am and have been out of work since Dec. due to F*%ked up economy.
Thank you

I attached the wiring diagram for the fuel pump. Looks like the supply wire off the relay is blue/black and the ground from the pump is white/black.

Let us know if you need more info. Thanks

Yeah. That was a pretty simple one so I figured it was either a really weird issue or you were just making sure. Thanks for using 2CarPros. Talk to you next time. Thanks

I change the fuel pump, now I don't need to use starting fluid to start it up. now it's stalling, idles pretty good for 2/3 minutes then start misfiring then shuts off/stalls out but you can start it up again without a problem and repeat itself. Cleaned the IACV.

Okay. We need to start with the basics on this. Let's run through this info and see what happens. The one thing that is not on here the would make sense is the purge valve is sticking. However, we can get to that if all these check out.

Unfortunately the manual is not giving me a specific location but it is either on the top of the charcoal canister or at the other end of the line on the intake manifold.

Take a look at this diagram and let me know what you find. Thanks

They left wires open next to fuel pump plug. Burnt with lighter I guess to test. Car is getting 0 fuel. I am figuring fuse or relay. I am a tech. So I like to have the diagrams to diagnosis.

A transmission issue could cause a stalling but not from the sound of this one. This sounds like an air or fuel issue. Prior to replacing the pump was it stalling like this after using starter fluid to get it started?

If not, let's test fuel pressure again because I wonder if we fixed on issue with the pump but got another issue with a faulty pump.

It wasn't stalling when I use the starter fluid not until I change the fuel pump. could the fuel pump be bad? seem to me a fuel pressure issue. when it stalls it seems like it wants to start but won't catch unless I give starting fluid and then starts up then take it for test then it idles for a while then shuts off again. I'm fixing to quit on this issue it's a headache to the max, lol.

Based on that info, we need to test the fuel pressure because you can absolutely have a faulty pump right out of the box. It is not common but more common then you would want.

Let's follow the guide I attached earlier and see what the pressure is and we can go from there as that should give us the proof we need to condemn the pump.

The best way to go about is to remove the original from the vehicle to get the part number.
