Overheating

Well it's a metal hose that connects to the water pump that has one of the two coolant bleeders. The other end the heater core connects to it. Could that metal hose have a blockage?

This is the metal hose I am talking about?

It looks like a heater pipe with the bleeder screw highly unlikely it's clogged but if you want to check It you can.Are both the heater hoses getting too hot to hold at operating temp?

I know the top one gets hot with a lot of pressure on the hose and my husband says the bottom one is the same way.

Then there is good flow thru the heater core maybe the blend door isn't operating correctly that controls the temp control.

Well after bleeding the system a couple more times it started working. The temperature gauge went up pass halfway then the new thermostat open and we got heat. Hasn't tried to overheat since. Been driving the car all day and no problems. I guess the car is temperamental.

Air can be tricky to bleed sometimes that's why I use my air lift that uses compressed air to pull a vacuum on the system and removes all the air pockets and I can fill the cooling system up using the vacuum that's pulled on the cooling system.

Took the car out today and what do you know same problem again no heat and overheating. About ready to put it in the shop cause I have no idea what else to do

Have you tried renting a chemical block tester from auto zone to see if there are exhaust gasses in your cooling system?

Well all day it didn't overheat but of course I had to bleed it three times before it actually acted right. I am about a hundred percent sure now all the air is out. It idled for 30 minutes without bleeding it this last time. Got heat as soon as the temperature gauge started moving. Three weeks later and I am hoping we have finally fixed the car. Let you know for sure later on today.
