I have a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L, V6 Sedan. It has the SRS light illuminated and its getting me worried. I hear that there is an MES connector located somewhere around under the dash but I don't know the exact point. so, please, can you help me by telling me where to find the MES connector and how to go about resetting the SRS on this model? Thanks in anticipation.

The first thing you need to do is have the codes read in the air bag computer and let me know the exact code numbers not code descriptions? Otherwise were just guessing why the lights on.

Thanks for your quick response. I really appreciate it.

The codes are:
(1) F1-11
(2) F2-11
(3) D3-11
(4) D4-11

Thanks again.

I have had this issue for a week now when suddenly the airbag light came on and followed by A/C shut down and gauges moving up and down working intermittently. I took the car to the dealer and did resetting to the ECM/PCM program, but they suggested to change the speedometer cluster due to circuit shortage. I took the car to another expert electrician specialized in speedometer cluster and he said that it is altered and reduced to a lower km previously( I am the second owner), but it could be the body control module(BCM) needs to checked or changed. I already placed online purchase to get a used speedometer cluster before asking the electrician and costs alot.
What do you think of the cause?
Where can I find the BCM?
How can I make sure that it will work after replacing the speedometer cluster or BCM?
Best regards

bcm 's don't control a/c or clusters. it may be just a bad cluster. but scan it to see if anything comes up.

if you don't have a pro style scanner then it won't pic k up anything. if it's an auto parts type it onlypicks up engine/transmission codes.

I have 160,200 miles. It runs good. I take to the mechanic regularly. But my mechanic thinks it is a electronic problem.
1) I tried to get fix the ABS light a year back. He did temparay fix. Last for few months. He thinks that it requires replacing two sensors. I am not sure what is the recommended cost to fix this issue or is it worth?
2) SRS light started coming off and on. I tried to adjust my belt and it worked temporarily. Some times it worked alright, when I put my belt before any move. Now it stays permanently. Mechanic was saying the same electronic issue. I am not sure what is the issue and what is the recommended price. If I take to dealer it cost more. Please guide on both items as a permanent fix

First of all thank you so much for your donation.I would need you to get your abs and air bag computers scanned for code's and let me know what the numbers for each on is.Without them i can't tell you much.

The SRS light on our 2000 Honda Accord came on. It is a 4-cylinder with about 115,000 miles.

Is this something that has to addressed immediately or does this just mean that the airbags may not deploy properly? Also, what is the "cut off system"?

What can I expect this to cost if a repair is needed?

The vehicle should not be affected but the air bags probably will not deploy. I would call that significant so I suggest you first check the fuses on the vehicle.

You need to scan and retrieeve the trouble code to find out what is causing the transmission and SRS indicator light to come on.

Recommended transmission fluid is Honda ZF transmission fluid or equivalent.

The SRS is another matter and normal code readers would not be able to get the codes. You need specialised scan tool for that.

For P0780, it is a mechanical fault in the hydraulic system and can be due to faulty solenoid switches or pressure control solenoids. You need to perform test/substitution of solenoids and if problem is not resolved, you either need to rebuild the transaxle or replace it.

most likely they pulled the fuse. it most likely was not repaired properly. have a shop put the system back on line and find out what needs to be repaired.

Not the fuse, more likely they pulled the bulb at the meter.

airbag light goes on for awhile and then goes off..sometimes it stays on until I turn the engine off but will do the same thing again a day or two later.

Now my left hand turn signals are not working..front and back. Bulbs and fuse are good. Are these problems related?

Thanks

They might be related.
The best thing to do is to have the trouble codes pulled and that will tell you your electrical problem.
Any Auto Zone or Advance Auto will do this for free.

I don't believe AutoZone can pull Airbag codes. You will need an enhanced scan tool for that.

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 and while driving it home noticed that the SRS light was on. I stopped at a Honda dealership and had it checked out and they came back with six codes. Basically saying that I needed to replace my entire air bag system. They also discoved behind the steering wheel that some wires have been cut. The wires are coming out of a little yellow square connector and the wires that are cut are red. I've talked to the dealership that I bought the car from and they say that the air bags have been replaced. Could the wires that are cut be triggering the SRS light to stay on and for it to throw out codes telling me to replace the whole system? Do I have to replace the entire system or can I just replace the part in the steering wheel? Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

what dealership looked at the car? they must be idiots. if you have wires cut up under your dash in a yellow plug . srs wires are always in yellow and if they are cut they will show those codes.if your air bags have been replaced that is a pretty good indication that the car was in an accident .take the car to a good reputable body shop and have them look at it.if you have a honda dealership with a body ship that is prefered

I have a 2000 Honda Accord and a few months a go my SRS light came on. I didn't pay any attention to it untill my inspection came up and founfd out my Airbags would not deploy since the light is on. I did a few troubleshooting to reset the computer, but the light came back. I too it to the mechanic and they checked all the connections, fuses and the seat belt sensors were checked and they could not find the couse of the problem. Do you have any idea what could be the cause???

While driving my Accord a few days ago, I momentarily unbuckled my seatbelt to grab an object off of my dash. I re-buckled my seatbelt but the SRS light came on and will not go off. Do you have any information on how to troubleshoot this problem?

thank you,

Hi Lew,

It means there is a problem with the Air bag system and it is not working.

Get a scan done to finds out which component is faulty.

Hi veritas0207,

SRS warning light does not mean the control Unit is faulty. Get a scan done to find out what is wrong.

knowing the codes will indicate troubled area.

Hi bigstevetas,

The seat belt being locked could be the cause for the SRS indicator light to be turned on.

You need to retrieve the trouble code to find out what is causing it.
