You may have a faulty cluster or a connection at the back may be loose or unplugged.

Pull out the cluster and ensure the wiring is good and that you are recieving all the proper power/grounds and signals. If you are, replace the cluster.

my buddy was working on my car, he was putting in a kill switch. Some how along the way, we had to remove the drivers side fender, as well as the corner light, in doing so the wires came off so i hooked them bach up wrong i think, the hazards and turn signals dont work now, would it be a blown fuse? They all looked good, unless i missed one. Another question, is it possible for the turn signals and hazards to function without the flasher relay? My car doesnt have the flasher relay where its suppossed to be...but they have always worked before, is it possible its placed in a different location? My blinkers used to blink rapidly, so i know they altered it somehow. please help, thanks!

Hi Broham03,

Check the hazard switch connectors. If the hazard switch is not connected, the hazard and turn signals would not work.

A blown bulb would cause the turn signals to work fast. Ensure all bulbs are working.

When I put my left or right blinker on, my four ways come on therefore I have no turning signals. The guys at O'Reily's have checked the fuses and bulbs. When I have my lights on (at night I can really notice this) the lights on the speedometer part don't come on but the heater/ac panel lights come on and they blink with the signals (four ways) if I actually try to use them. What could be the problem?

If this helps, the person that had the car before me had a system in there and took it out before they traded it in, Could they have crossed some wires or something?

Hi brittanyphillips4,

Seems some wires had been crossed or you have a faulty flasher unit.
The speedometer illumination light bulb should be bad and requires replacement.

There is a possibility some ground connections are not securely tightened resulting in the AC heater panel lights flashing in tandem with the flasher.

I have a 98 civic and the other day i noticed that the driver side blinker was not working, the passenger side works fine. On the dash the D/S blinker flashes really fast as does the rear blinker light. I have checked all fuses and bulbs they all check out fine. When I turn the flashers on they all work except for the driver side. It has been very frustrating to say the least. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

This is because you have a front blinker light out which causes the blinker to go fast on the side the bulb is out.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers

Hello, I recently had 1 dim headlight and went to Autozone they said it was a bad ground probably also came to the same conclusion after searching over many websites I found the ground wire its on right front it connects to frame and I cleaned it until it was shiny now my headlight is full and bright again (yay) but my blinker is still dim. Both tail lights in the back are fine. When I use the blinker in the car sometimes it blinks really fast or really slow but it is still dim. I was wondering if there is a ground for the blinker that I need to clean as well? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

When the signals are blinking really fast, get out and check to see what light is out. There is probably a bad filiment. There are grounds at the sockets that may be causing the dimness.

When it blinks fast/slow it changes every now and then. I went and looked at the light and its blinking but not illuminating the area around the light its more like a Christmas light. it doesn't seem reflect and be bright enough to go outside of the light casing for other cars to see.

I replaced the front bulb, on the headlight, but not the blinker bulb. I couldn't figure out how to remove it. Do I have to remove the whole headlight?

I have a 93 honda civic 2 door coupe ex and my left turn signal flashes faster than the right. The hazard lights work fine, I`ve tried bulbs,a flasher, turn signal switch. I`ve checked the grounds at the front and rear sockets with a test light and seem ok.
What do I do now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without seeing it. it makes it pretty tough. Each manufacturere has their own way of messing with our heads. Some hondas call for the bumpers to be removed

IF you want to post several pics, we can try to determine it if you like.

Hi darin-a,

If the speed difference is not much, then it should be the bulb ratings are different or a faulty flasher relay. If it is ver fast, then 1 bulb on left side should be faulty and not working.

Hi,
I have a 1997 Civic Honda DX coupe. The other day, I have had problems with my left turn signal blinkiing faster than the right signal. I went to an Auto parts store and they said it was my flasher and sold me the part. The left turn lights both front and back still work. Did I get the right part and if so, where is the flasher located? Thanks.

Check your bulbs and sockets for that side

Location: behind left side of dash tape to the wire harness.

not sure exactly what "freak out" means but you may want to ensure the ground wiring and other connectors are tight and connected properly at the switch you worked on.

Tried to fix problem with LH signal flashing when RH engaged. Blew a fuse when I shorted LH switch to grd. Now only have LH signal, none on RH. Flasher works, also the Em. flasher works for all lights, including RH, but no turn signal to RH side. Continuity checks OK for turn switch in all positions. Voltage at Em. flasher is @ 13V, but signal switch shows @ 8V.
Suggestions?

The left signal working does not necessarily mean the flasher is good. Left and right have different circuits within. Do all the lights turn on when the hazard lights are turned on?

Yes, all lights work perfectly when Em. flasher on! I rechecked the posts on switch & found I had bent one during testing & now have all working, except as before - the LH sidemarker blinks when RH is engaged. I took the flasher & swapped into another Honda, it is fine! To pass inspection, I removed wiring for the side markers & just use as an ornament, but would rather fix the problem & have sidemarkers as turn indicators.

Also figured out that the main Volt. comes from Em. flasher switch & the turn sig. switch will only have 7-8V. Just puzzled in what I'm missing!

I am confused with the situation and let us put it in proper perspective so that I under the problem correctly.

1. LH signal flashes when RH is turned on. This is to mean the signal switch only works the LH when when it it turned to right or left? If yes, you could have a bad siwtch.

2. Less than battery voltage can mean a poor connection somewhere and for the flasher relay, the correct voltage is important fo it to work correctly.

I tried checking through the circuit schematics in our database and is as confused as before. Not easy when there are 3 diagrams to link. Maybe I should try printing them out to check.

The LH sidemarker blinks when RH turned on. The LH turn signal (in bumper) doesn't blink when RH on. RH side works normally. All lights blink as expected on Em. flash. Have tried another switch from working Honda Civic as well as flasher relay. Same results. The LH will blink normally when LH on, but LH sidemarker also blinks as the RH blinks.

There are 2 relays in the circuit. You mentioned swapping , was both swapped or only the hazard flasher? In the underdash fusebox there is another side marker flasher relay.

Check out the side marker relay. Seems that is the only component that can cause the symptoms described.
