The other week both my brake light and ABS light came on in my truck. I checked the pads, the fluid is not leaking at the master cylinder or at the wheels. The truck still stops on a dime. I am confused as to what it could be. The same time these lights came on my speedometer stopped working too. It is not recording mileage or anything.

Because of the safety issue with the abs system, you need to get it checked out.
On the rwal system, that sensor is in the differential, the magnetic sensor can pickup all kinds of metallic debris. I believe the signal for speed and distance also comes from this sensor. You need to get it looked at.
