Speedometer not working

I looked all day for that but i cant find it and there is a cable and a plug in but the cable wont reach. Its off by like 3 feet away.

You're probably looking at the kick-down cable from the throttle body. Speedometer cables have not been used starting with the '89 models.

oooooh well we are just going to take it to a mechanic down the street form our house and see if he can find it.

This truck has so many problems now its leaking oil all over the driveway. It wont pull out on a small hill and wont stay in 1st gear. Its horrible...

I had the same issue on my ‘99 Dakota with the ABS and Parking indicators on and the speedometer wouldn’t engage until around 35mph. I changed out the rear ABS Sensor and the indicators went away but now the speedometer doesn’t work at all. I replaced the Speed Sensor on the transmission and still no speedometer. I’ve checked the fuses in the fuse bus(all good) and I ran a gauge test and all the gauges worked fine. Any idea what else it could be? Thanks

Hello,

It sounds like the anti-lock brake controller is out which the speedometer signal runs through. here is the location so you can change it out.
