My engine stalls at idle why?

Okay, so I finally found time to change the 02 sensor after getting the 'o2 sensor slow response'. Now I have a code 'p0420' Is my Catalytic converter bad? Or could my rear sensor be going bad? Thanks for putting up with all of these questions! its one thing after another!
