Engine will not start and run?

When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

Yes, the engine cranks over but no start. If you pull the fuel pump relay then put it back in it starts right up. I replaced relay and is still occurring.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you but you were right the fuel pump. fixed it all good!

the engine will turn over but does not start. there is no spark at the coils over plugs. i check for power at the coil it had ten to twelve volts and i check for ground it was good. i did not check for a signal. how do i check for a signal at the coils? how do i check for voltage and signal at the crank sensor?

try a security system reset first. See picture.

i have not tried to reset the security system yet, but i will. what cause the system to get off set? when i turn the key on the security light is on solid but it goes out in about three to five seconds about the same time the fuel pump stop running.

they just do that they are electronic. it can be something else but try that first. then scan for codes.

The codes are P2101, P1516,2119 before these codes was read the battery cable had been disconnected because the battery went dead but these codes still show up every time I disconnect the battery cable I have a Innova 3040c scan tool that I uses and it also retrieved vehicle data does the engine have to be running to view live data? will these codes cause no spark at the coils? i hope i can get to the root of the problem soon i am experiencing from this.

this was explained to you by cardio doc just yesterday and here you are asking the same question again. you have been suggested what to do repeatedly and should not be asking the same questions again

i did a security system reset that didn't help still no spark at the coils not getting no signal from the PCM to the coils

I changed the spark plugs out in my envoy one at a time because it has individual coil packs on it and I dint want to get them crossed up . After changing the plugs I tried to start my truck and it would not start. I then checked each coil pack to make sure the connection was good and tried to start again, still wouldn't start. I then put the old plugs back I to make sure the plugs that I had purchased was not a bad set of plugs and it still will not start. What will cause that to happen.

look around all the area to be sure that you did not leave any connectors undone. start there

i replace the fuel pump and fuel filter on my SUV. the first time i check the fuel pressure after i replace the new fuel pump it show about 56 psi the test port is connect to the fuel line at the fuel filter there is where i check the pressure is there another test port under the hood where i can test the pressure there? the engine will crank but wont start when i turn the key to run the pump will run for about two second and sometimes the pump keep on running and wont stop until i turn the key off. what causes the pump to keep on running? what to check and how do i fix all the problems? i want to get it going need a way to get around in.

Please run down this guide and report back. it should be 50-57 psi at fuel rail and not drop more than 5 psi after ten minutes it may be a partially blocked line. if you spray choke cleaner into throttle body and it starts fine if not try resetting security system.

the engine was running good went to the store when got back into the vehicle to start it it would not start.

no i did not see any light flashing i will check again.

Please see if it's flashing or on solid that's means the security system is active keeping it from starting

the battry cable been disconnect will it still have any codes in the computer? i will scan for codes.

Sometimes you can read them with a basic code reader when that happens and sometimes you cannot. if there were codes you would need a more advanced scan tool.

Let's start with what I asked is the security light on solid or flashing with the key in the run position?You could have the correct fuel pressure but If the security system is keeping it from starting by disabling the fuel injector pulse then it won't start.A advance scan tool is one the professionals used and can read all the computers in the car plus do special tests etc.

Try relearning the pass lock sensor like hmac300 suggested in a previous post look back on this question there are instructions.

Those look like throttle body codes like throttle position sensor etc.As far as the security light those would have codes in the body control module which a basic diyer code reader can't read.Those codes would start with a B try relearning the pass lock sensor.

I have installed an identical 2003 envoy engine. It is said to have had 9k miles on it. The install went well. However, it is acting like it is not getting fuel to the fuel injectors. There was no flashing security light. There is fuel to the engine when the key "is turned on". The engine will start turn over if starter fluid is used. I preformed the 30 min security relearn process with the correct key type/process. But could not tell is "it took" due to the fact that no flashing light was there. No other codes are being thrown. Thank you for any help.
