Car is running hot. Changed fan clutch, changed water pump, put new radiator cap on, new thermostat, flushed radiator, and still running hot.

Pressure check coolant system for an internal leak like ahead gasket. Also, if truck was in a wreck recently make sure there is a fan shroud on it or fan clutch will not work.

For some reason when sitting in traffic it will overheat. I know after it does this it pushes the coolant out. However, the overflow tank is always about half way full, like it will not go back into the radiator from the reservoir. I have changed the thermostat it fixed the problem for a short time only to return again.

If the overheating never occurs when driving at higher speeds, the best suspect is an electric radiator fan that is not turning on. That is not needed at highway speeds when natural air flow is sufficient.

Also, check for a radiator fan fuse that is blown. Most commonly when that happens, it is because the fan motor has tight bearings. That causes it to draw higher current than normal. The fix for that is a new fan motor or assembly, then a new fuse.

My vehicle is overheating when idling. Then normal temperature when driving. Could you give me your insight on this?

Check thermostat and coolant level, if okay-check water pump operation and make sure the cooling fans are coming on on time. Any coolant leak?
