Hard starting in cold

95 Nissan Maxima GXE 5 speed, front wheel drive, manufactured in summer 94, with 185,000 miles: A persitant hard start condition indicates code 47 - crank/cam shaft sensor. We initially replaced spark plugs and starter, checked the battery and leads, checked amperage of coolant temp sensor and crank/cam sensor. We have replaced the crank sensor and have identified the crank sensor wire at the ECU, and have continuity. I am at a loss as to where to go next. Thanks.

We found the starter we replaced 2 months ago was defective. Once we replaced the defective starter, the starting difficulty is gone, and the code 47 for the crank shaft sensor cleared and hasn't returned.
