Transmission (Slipping & jerking)

1996 accord 150,000 miles v4 automatic

seems to get stuck in first gear when on incline, worse when engine is cold. it will studder like its trying to shift but wont. drives basically fine other than that, though it does shift hard sometimes in the lower gears.

I would check the tranny fluid level and check the records on when the fluid was last changed. I might consider a fluid change. If after that it is still having problems, there are additives that can possibly work and I have seen some that state being safe to use in a Honda transmission.
