Sorry. The shutter wheel. Those white pieces broke of the shutter wheel.

Yes, the replacement piece is complete. It just drops in and you plug it in.

The reason I ask is cause the part from AutoZone does not show the shutter wheel in the picture it just shows the pick up coil.

When you go to the parts store, take the old one with you to match it up. It should have everything with it.

Do not think I need this but can you get me the directions for the distributor install and removal including setting the timing. Thank you Roy. You have been a tremendous help. Hopefully our post help someone else in the same boat.

When you remove the cap, mark the exact position of the rotor. You will also need to mark the exact location of the distributor housing as well.
Then remove the distributor and transfer the marks to the replacement. Then install the same way you removed it.
You will need a timing light to reset the timing when you are done as well.
Roy
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the distributor Hall effect pick-up lead wire at the wiring harness connector.
2. Remove splash shield retaining screws, and remove the splash shield.
3. Remove distributor cap retaining screws, and remove the distributor cap.
4. Rotate engine crankshaft until the rotor is pointing toward the cylinder block. Use this position as a reference when reinstalling the distributor.
5. Remove distributor hold down bolt, and carefully lift the distributor out of the engine.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the distributor in the engine, making sure the distributor O-ring is not worn or damaged, and is properly seated on the distributor.
2. If engine has not been cranked proceed with distributor installation step 3. If engine has been cranked with distributor removed, proceed to step 4.
3. Lower distributor into engine and engage distributor drive with auxiliary shaft drive, so that when the distributor is installed the rotor will be pointing toward the cylinder block. Proceed to step 5.
4. If engine has been cranked with distributor removed perform the following:
a. Rotate the crankshaft until number one piston is at the top of its compression stroke. The pointer on the clutch housing shield should be in line with the "0" TDC mark on the flywheel.
b. Rotate the rotor to a position just ahead of the number one distributor cap terminal.
c. Lower the distributor into the opening and engage distributor drive with drive on auxiliary shaft. With the distributor fully seated on the engine, the rotor should be under the cap number one tower.
5. Install the distributor cap, and make sure all wires are snapped firmly in the towers. Install the hold down screw and tighten finger tight.
6. Install the splash shield and Hall effect pick-up lead at wiring harness connector.
7. Connect negative battery terminal, and set timing. Refer to ADJUSTMENTS PROCEDURES for timing adjustment.
Then remove the distributor and transfer the marks to the replacement. Then install the same way you removed it.
You will need a timing light to reset the timing when you are done as well.

Got it running. Drove about thirty miles the had to pull over on side of highway. Now the motor is not turning just hear the starter cranking. Got code 42.

I swapped the relay with another relay nothing changed. Will check wiring but did not do anything once I put the new distributor in. It was working fine then got about half way to Austin then it just kind of lost power. Checked oil it is low, but car not even cranking just hear the starter spinning. New starter and timing belt and of course the distributor. Will check the ASD relay wiring. If I do not find anything wrong any other suggestions?

Can you hear the fuel pump run? Do you have spark?
Check the fuse for the ASD relay.
Roy
