Thank you. I am getting codes p0301 and p0300. I already change the spark plus, wires and coil. I get a strong smell of gas under the hood and really hard start up. I am certain it is a bad fuel injector.

Danny here. Code P0300 is random/multiple misfire and P0301 is cylinder number one misfire. It is possible to have a leaking/faulty number one Injector problem if Plugs, wires, and coils changed.

After removing intake manifold I found the number one fuel injector is burnt and the gasket for the manifold has oil all over them.

Danny here. After time the gaskets are prone to leaking especially after 100,000 miles.

Would that cause the car to puff grey/blue smoke from the exhaust?

Danny here. Yes, It would. Oil getting sucked into the combustion process would be the grey/blue smoke out the exhaust.

Yea because whenever I start it, I would see a puff of smoke and I saw some oil when I looked inside of the chamber. How long you think it would it take for the car to get the remaining of the oil out?

Danny here. I am sure it would not take long! That was just oil being burned that was leaking caused by the gaskets. Be sure to install new intake gaskets upon reassembly and that all surfaces are prepped/cleaned to insure a good seal. I have attached a diagram showing the proper torque sequence for installation. These bolts are to be torqued to 105 inch/LBS.

Hi there.

Code P0128 is showing as Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature. Have you changed the thermostat at any time? If you do plan on doing the coolant change/flush that would be a great opportunity with the coolant being removed and changed. Here is a few links: Danny-

Danny again.

It is fairly simple, just two bolts! Since you replaced the injectors I know you can change the thermostat! My last response I included a thermostat replacement tutorial.

Hello again.

The new thermostat comes with a O-Ring, so do not use any sealant. The Thermostat housing bolts are to be torqued to 105 inch LBS.

Also, the car only starts in neutral when I park for about ten minutes or so and when I try to start it in park it will not crank.

Hi there.

If the car does not crank in park but neutral only that sounds like the neutral safety switch. They can fall out of adjustment in time. Here is a link and a picture. I circled it in red. Danny-

Hello Danny here.

My mistake, you are correct!
It is located on the transmission valve body manual valve shaft. A good time to test/check is when a transmission service is required. I always recommend dropping the transmission pan to change the filter however, people like the convenience of doing just a quick fluid exchange at quick lube places and it leaves the old dirty filter inside.

Hi again.
No. Do not use sealant. Be sure all surfaces are clean to promote a good seal with the new gasket. Pan bolts are to be torqued to 17 Ft LBS. Danny-

I was driving home last night and the CEL came on and it was a code P0420 for the catalytic converter. I heard a loud noise under the hood and now it smells bad.

Hello again.

Sorry to hear you are having all these problems. Yes code P0420 is Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 . That is the right (passenger) side. Converters due wear out after time but, they mostly fail due to poor performance/mechanical failure/or contamination. I think it is possible this failure started with the fuel injector leakage. Having a misfire does massive damage by having raw fuel dumped into the exhaust system/catalytic converter. I saw this happen personally with my Chevrolet Silverado with a misfire with only 50,000 miles on a new converter. Usually prices can range from $100.00 to $2,000.00 depending on vehicle and availability. It can also be hard acquiring certain converters here in CA. Hope this helps.
