[quote:b2697c8da3="marveylus22"]Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 79,000 miles
It has 79,000 miles on it. I`ve replaced the fuel filter. Problem occurs after driving for awhile. The engine will stall, and shut off like it is running out of gas. When I attempt to restart it flutters for a second or two then dies. Try to restart turns over but will not start up. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes it fires right up. It will do this just about every time when driving across town or a lengthy trip, but not when I go short distances. Thank you for your time.[/quote:b2697c8da3]
Fixed it. Here is what I done. The EGR valve, and hose going to the throttle body was leaking when it got hot. I added a little silicone around the EGR valve, and a hose clamp to the hose the connects to the throttle body. Hope this helps someone else out there.

You have a picture of the grill. Did something break through it when this happened? If so, check the trans cooler to see if it is leaking. Let me know.

Check the idle air control valve, MAF and TPS sensors to include the EGR valve.

Engine Performance problem
1999 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 108500 miles
With the engine cold, it will not stay idle without dying. If I keep my foot on the gas, it is ok. But once I lift my foot off the gas pedal to put it on the brake pedal to put into gear, it dies. But once the engine is up to temperature, it will drive fine and I can turn it off and restart it, and it will idle fine. Do you know what is causing this? Thanks.
