4 wheel drive not working

hi yes if the 4x4 worked before trans then something is unhooked or damaged. . check the 4x4 motor on transfer case make sure it is plugged in. billymac

What did I do to my 1996 ford ranger?
One day I was pulling out of my parking space and didn't relize that the 4 wheel drive was engaged. I thought I was just stuck in a pothole so I worked my clutch and forced through the tension. Stupid me! Since then the 4x4 doesn't work. My truck still runs fine but ut just won't engage. Can you help me understand what i going on?
