Defroster got stuck on defrost

heat an ac only blows out defroster vent

Some makes and models, hvac vacuum actuators, lose vacuum, the hvac system will default to defrost. I'd check the vacuum and actuators. The vent doors are actuated by vacuum. Check for a vacuum leak to the system. Check both under the dash and the supply hose from the engine.
