where exactly is the blend door actuator in my car? my A/C just started blowing warm air through the driver vents and the passenger side is super cold, I'm also not sure if this would fix the problem. I'm also not sure if it has one for the driver side and one for the passenger or if it's all just connected to one actuator.

Hello, if you have a multi zone system where you can set the temperatures different from the passenger side and the driver's side then there is an air mix door for each side. I'll post some service information on this, and if you have an enhanced scan tool that can do full system scans of all the modules in the vehicle, you will most likely find there is a code stored in the HVAC module for one of the air doors not responding or some other trouble about a fault happening in that system, but you should be able to access the driver side (LH Air mix door) actuator with these diagrams I'll post, I find these actuators just strip off some of the little plastic teeth on the plastic gears inside and you will sometimes hear a clicking noise when it's trying to move that specific door. Unless there's a circuit problem with the actuator. But I'll post some info and you can check it.

So sorry for the delay. Diagrams 1,2 are for a manual A/C system, you'll need to remove the glovebox to get to the air mix door actuator on the passenger side, and there are some testing procedures listed here for checking the actuator, you should be able to put your hand on the actuator and when charging the controls from hot to cold and back, you should feel the actuator moving the air mix door, if you don't hear or feel it doing anything, then you can run through the testing section and check it for power with the key on engine off.
I'll post a wiring diagram next, so you know which wires to check first.

This is the Manual A/C operations and wiring diagrams, the Purple wire is the power wire for the actuator and there looks to be 4 other wires for certain positions, it's a bit odd for a system with only one air mix door to have hot air on one vent and cold air on another, which is why is sounded like a 2 air door system, if you find the diagrams don't match, then we can put up the 2 air mix door info, in that case the LH (driver side) system has an air mix door on the driver's side lower dash when looking right and up from the gas pedal area, I would more suspect that door having some sort of issue with such high temperature differences per side. The last 3 diagrams are the components listed for the manual A/C system.

But if you can have someone with a capable scan tool scan the entire vehicle (every module) for trouble codes you will most likely find a code(s) stored in other modules which could help shortcut this diagnosis. Even if a shop were to just do the full system scan and write down all the codes present for you, that could help, the HVAC control module might have a code already stored in it for whatever is at fault here.

Is the actuator behind anything that I have to remove once I've taken out the glove box? The diagrams sort of helped. does not provide the diagrams for 12-14.

I know I'm sorry these diagrams are not too clear on when direction it's looking from. Let me see if I can find some better info for you here. So even with the A/C off, just the blower motor on and air moving through the vents, when changing the temperature from hot to cold and back you should see and hear an Air Mix door motor moving, the manual A/C system shows the air mix door on the passenger side, so keep the A/C off for now, so we're just dealing with the air mix door moving and not any other doors that might move with the A/C on, such as any Recirculation door or Mode door. See if you still get movement by the actuator on the driver's side actuator with just moving from Hot to Cold and back.

For the manual A/C system service info here is putting the air mix door on the left side (drivers' side) but in the wiring diagrams it's putting it on the right side, hence the confusion here.
Does the actuator you see moving have a 5-wire plug with these wire colors? That way you can identify the air mix door from the mode door as in the wiring diagram below. The purple wire is the power feed for both of those doors, but to identify which is which, go by wire colors.

There’s no flashing lights or anything like that, I’ll try the method with the A/C off and see with that.

I have this video that shows a part that has wires but it’s on the passenger side which is what I have noticed is that when I change the direction of the air flow, this part in specific making a very faint ticking noise.

Are you able to change the air flow from the dash vents to the floor and windshield etc.? Or is it stuck in one position? The movement you saw with the A/C on might be other doors and not necessarily the air mix door. And changing temperatures you still have just cold on the passenger side and warm on the driver's side?

The air mix door actuator is listed as being on the RH side, so the passenger side. this picture is not sideways or anything, correct? The two wire component you're seeing here is going to be a temperature sensor, the actuator is going to have 5 wires, look for the purple wire. It looks like there is a connector wrapped in electrical tape right there with an orange piece sticking out of the tape. These actuators look to have a linkage bar on them, so if you follow that back it will go to the motor that moves the bar and in turn, the air doors.

i took the picture correctly but when i posted it, it automatically put it sideways but yes, the wires you circled are facing the front towards the engine, but also the one you circled actually has the purple wire in it.

The white lever in the middle of the picture is one of the doors, and the actuator is at the end of the rod that moves the door arm.

everything works correctly like changing the airflow to the vents to floor, and such, when i change the airflow, everything actually moves so nothing is stuck and yes, i still get warm on driver side and cold on passenger side.

I'm trying to determine that right now, service info is listing an Upper and Lower air mix doors, it's just difficult trying to figure out what combination of things here could cause cold on one side, if you switch all the air flow to the floor, do you get cold out of both floor vents then?

And are you getting really hot air, like it may be passing through the heater core, or does it feel more like just outside temperature air? And does the blower motor flow air on full mode, it's not weak air flow? One or more of these doors is stuck, the low clicking sound your hearing seems like there might be low voltage to the system, possibly effecting multiple doors, this system runs on an AC amplifier they call it, and the air mix door is controlled by a stepper motor, which you can see in the diagram below, they are not just dc motors which switch direction by applying power to one side and ground to the other and then changing that around to switch directions of the door. Stepper motors tend to be weak, since they have 4 different windings and each winding is controlled by its own transistor. They do this tap along type of movement until they reach the position they're supposed to be in, but most manufacturers use just direct DC motors which are much stronger and can handle more current. I have seen these AC amplifiers go bad as well, I will bet that if the HVAC control module was scanned for trouble codes there would most likely be a code set for some section of this system.

The air passing through isn’t hot, it’s just warm or just regular temperature but weird thing is that at night, when I drive around, it feels normal or if I close both passenger vents, I get cold air on the driver side.

I will look into this more, according to this vehicle and year and get back with you shortly, I want to see if a failing AC amp is common on this year. If you can disconnect the arms that move the doors without too much trouble, you may be able to see exactly which one of those arms is the air mix door and at least get the cold air to circulate correctly, even if it's temporary for now. this listing of an Upper and Lower air mix door isn't showing in the wiring diagrams so far, but this does explain why the air mix door has 5 wires, 1 is power and the other 4 are stepper motor winding controls, I use stepper motors quite a bit and they require a special control module that works each of the 4 windings. But let me dig a little more on this. See if you can unhook one of the rod (bars) on the passenger side there, the air mix door is supposed to be the one next to that 2-wire temperature sensor.

Yeah, a door is stuck halfway or partially closed somewhere, and the cold air isn't making it over to the driver's side. See if keeping it on Recirculation helps any for now. At night it's cooler out and easier on the A/C system itself.

Also I just looked back at the pictures I took on both sides and I did see in the driver side, there is also a connecter with 5 wires that also includes the purple wire that’s actually tucked up closer inside behind the radio and A/C control box.

There are no other ways to move any of the doors since this whole system is electronic as pretty much everything is these days. Im not sure if this diagram will help anymore than the others, but the air mix door actuator is on the right side if facing the center dash.
Does moving the air mix door rod with everything running effect whether you get cold air on the drivers side?
I want you to check the Cabin air filter (diagram 2,3). It will be on the passenger side, theres a small cover you need to remove (#3 in diagram 2), then you should be able to remove the filter.
Also there is a drain hose for condensation build up thats for the HVAC box, it drains under the vehicle, you may notice a puddle of water under the vehicle after the AC has been running for awhile, the water is condensation from the AC system and needs to be able to drain properly. The drain hose is usually under the the vehicle near the center, around where the HVAC box is, most are pretty visible from underneath (diagram 4), sometimes they get dirt in them being exposed to the road, but if you dont see any water dripping under the vehicle after the AC has been running, try finding the hose and clear it out with a piece of wire or something you can get up into the hose to let any water out that might be puddling up inside.
If the cabin filter is ok and the drain hose is not clogged up, I would take it somewhere (a shop) that can do a full system scan on all the modules in the vehicle, have them write down every code stored and in what module it was stored, and we can take it from there. If we can get a code out of the HVAC module, it will give us some direction to diagnosing this issue. If youre able to move the doors manually, then something else is going on. Possibly one of the stepper motors is failing and just doesnt have the power to move the door it needs to. Once you have the cabin air filter out too, take a look inside with a flash light and see if you notice anything. Let us know what you find, and we can go forward from there.

So it turns out that the part is actually on the driver side which doesn’t seem easy to get up there but since I live in Arizona and monsoon season has started, I won’t be needing the cold ac for a 4 days until I can actually take the front driver side apart to be able to get to it.
