a/c compressor replacement?

I should have also mentioned it did the same thing after a rain at 3:00 am. If I bring the system pressures down, the system won't cool off at an idle when it is 110°. I am happy with where I have got my pressure unless I end up moving to where I can run it at a lower pressure because there is not a heat advisory almost daily.

The reason I have asked my question is because I noticed a pattern where after it rains and is feeling humid (not sure the exact humidity percentage) my clutch is engaging when I have got the button off and blower off. I have been told do not be afraid to ask if you do not know, that is why I have asked you. Now I ask that if you do not have an answer to that question, please ask someone else. Hopefully we both learn something.

clutch bearing went bad compressor made no noise. Change clutch assembly and bearing. Now A/C works but clutch is getting really hot. Please help.only ran for 5 minutes after change. What did i do wrong?

Okay, first I would not lower the pressures by bleeding Freon.

Freon level is critical and cannot be told by pressures, if you feel it is not tight, recover it, evacuate the system and add the exact amount in.

As far as the compressor, it is either the relay sticking, wiring or the control head sending wrong information.

The magnetic clutch has a clearance specification.Sounds like when you reassembled it might be too tight causing it to get hot. I've attached a picture step below on how to adjust the gap.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

That last paragraph was probably the most relevant information you have given me. I was trying to ask you to focus on why humidity was a factor. The car is over twenty years old, it has probably got a few issues. I think I will try another forum.
