I have the car listed above, 3.5L V6. my throttle position sensor went bad so i changed it out. i had to change the whole throttle body out because the TPS is connected to it. is it true that you have to reprogram it? because after i put the new one on it still is acting the same way as the old one did.

Chances are the old one was okay and it is the throttle pedal position switch that is the problem. can you tell me if there are any codes?

Here is a guide to help you get started:

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers

The codes i got were P2173, P0123, P0222, P2111. so you need a scan tool you cannot do it yourself manually?

You do not need to have it programmed in it should relearn itself after a driving a few miles. you might need to keep your foot on the gas a little while it is calibrating.

Before i changed out the throttle body/TPS I cleaned it out with throttle body cleaner it did not work. then i got fuel injector cleaner and sprayed it on all the vacuum lines and around the intake manifold and there was no leaks.

Hello, I am Danny.

I have attached a picture for position sensor. It is attached to the gas pedal assembly. The electrical harness disconnects at location on picture #1.
There is also one as part of the throttle body, it would depend on the exact code

Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Thanks for using 2carPros.com. Danny-

The first thing I need from you is for you to have it scanned for codes?then let me know the exact code numbers not code descriptions in the engine computer. That's are starting point so we have a idea what the lights are all about. Also I wouldn't see a coolant sensor effectt the throttle body except maybe the idle.

It kept coming back. Look deeper. Nothised the PVC volve was not looking to good either bought a brand new one and properly installed it myself. Checked for and signs of leaks damage. Didn't see it could hear. I removed the EGR pipes conected to EGR pipe and motor. Looked fine just put new seals on both ends for insurance of no leaks.

And again codes p0016 and p2112 keeps coming out. Question could code p0016 be related to throttle meaning lighting volt? Also I have a alarm on my car not factory would that affect the throttle? I had a system very loud on it and I took it out thinking it could have been the problem I was wrong. Last and final question. I have 22 star Inc rims on my car could the rims be affecting throttle? Meaning could the rims be to heavy for it.?

The code p0016 top fix is a bad cam sensor then you could have a timing belt that jumped. As far as the P2112 goes there aren't any repair tips top fixes etc there isn't any I see in my repair info.It says the throttle plate doesn't give feed back to where it's supposed to on start up.
