I have probably done 8 or 9 cycles since installing the ignition switch. We have been dealing with this problem for 2 years now and sometimes the relearn works on the first try, sometimes not at all and then the car will start randomly a day or two later. Also for some reason in this car the security light will never stop flashing, not after 10 minutes or even an hour, but it has been starting up until now after a few trys with the relearn. Once the car is started the security light will go off.

Usually on those cars you would find a bad pass lock sensor but we need to see what codes the body control module has.Depending on the code number you would also need a scan tool that you could to see live bcm data to diagnose that just depends on what code we have.

I have a OBD-II scanner but I think you are talking about a different scanner. Do you know where I could purchase a pass lock sensor other than a dealership?

The pass lock sensor is part of ignition cylinder you can buy them on www.rockauto.com you can get them with or without keys if you get it without keys you will have to have a lock smith code the cylinder to your key you have now. Also does your key less entry work your remote to lock and unlock door and turn the alarm on and off with remote?

To read your bcm codes you would need a more expensive and advanced scanner then your typical obd2 code reader which just reads obd2 generic codes.

The keyless entry does work to lock and unlock and will silence the panic alarm.

Thanks for your help again. I have to leave for work so I will look at the car again tomorrow. I think I will pull the key cylinder back out and check the connection of the passlock plug. I thought maybe I could just buy the passlock sensor since it plugs into the key cylinder.
