can you do a pressure test? check for dirty MAF sensor and also check TPS. Here is the fuel pump relay location. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

after messing around for a month finaly got my buick running. had to take to mechanic and it wasnt cheap. now 1 week later it dies again figured fuel pump as couldnt hear it power up so replaced it and still nothing. what could cause a loss of power to fuel pump as I have a new fuel pump relay so I can count that out but not sure what else it could be. any help is greatly appreciated as right now I dont have money to take to mechanic but have enuff for parts. thanks a million in advance for the help the relay i replaced was under the hood in the relay center is there by chance a relay center that i am missing as some say there are some behind the glovebox. is this so on my 99 lesabre?

disconnect all 3 loads and see if the fuse holds. if it does, then plug one in at a time and the fuse will blow when you plug in the failed part.

if the fuse still blows with the loads disconnected, then you have a wiring issue.

there is no cut off switch. the relay is under the hood in the relay center. i would look harder at the pump. common failure.

Hello, it should be located in the underhood electrical center. Your owners manual, if you have one, should give the the location of fuses and relays.

Hello, there is probably a power distribution center under the hood, the relay may be there. I'd check the relay circuits when the problem occurs.

One of my databases showed a fuel pump driver module, the other didn't show that???? I don't know why there would be a module unless it was a two speed pump? I'm just thinking out loud.

My fuel pump runs all the time, just started a couple of days ago. Now tonight it ran the battery down. Could it be the relay or filter? It is a buick lesabre 97

That is an odd problem when key is off power is cut to pump fuse. Try removing pump fuse in instrument panel number 6 fuel pump.
Let me know if is shuts off will have to find out how it is getting power. Any recent repairs?

I have a 95 lesbare custom and im having issues with it starting consistantly, as well as staying running once it does start. I took it somewhere and the replaced the crank sensor, but that didnt fix the problem. When it stalls, it feels like the fuel is being shut off. I replaced the fuel pump relay, but im still having the same problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The fuel pressure has been tested but I dont always hear the pump turn on when i turn the key. None of the lights are on unless the car stalls. When it stalls the oil, battery, and engine lights come on but when its running theres no lights on. The only thing ive done recently other than what i stated in my question is my front wheel bearings and the water pump and gasket.

Hi stretch1967,

It should be at the passenger compartment relay centre, behind right side of dash.

Here is a guide to help you test the relay once you find it from the diagrams below.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

1993 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 136833 miles

I need to find out which one of the relays is the fuel pump relay.

The relays are located in the maxifuse / relay center which is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, mounted against the fire wall. There are two fuse boxes, and a row underneath of relays.

Which one of those relays is the fuel pump relay?

Hello, my info just says position H for the fuel pump relay, like, abcdefg-. If you can see the wiring colors for the connector, you can double-check, gray-- black with white tracer--red-- dark green with white tracer-- pink with black tracer.

There also should be a fuel pump prime connector behind/around the battery, red wire with connector, nothing plugged into it. If you use a jumper wire and run B+ to the connector, the pump should run, use an inline fuse. That way you can run the pump without using the key, just for testing.
