I will have to look the code up when I get home thats a rare code on those cars doesnt c9me up often.I was asking about the multi meter so we could do some basic testing. But generally with a vent valve code you need a scan tool that can command the vent valve open and closed and a multi meter. Have you checked all the fuses?

It could be the power wire to the valve or the ground control wire from the pcm or the pcm itself. With the key in the run position one wire will have battery voltage the other wire is the ground controled by the pcm.Thats where the scan tool that can command the vent valve open and closed would come in to check the ground side of the vent valve.

The power side can be checked with a multi meter do you have one of those yet?The ground control the wire itself can be checked with the multi meter but the ground driver in the pcm you need a expensive scan tool that can command the vent valve open and closed.

Then you have a bad ground control wire or connection or a bad pcm.See if you have two ohms or less from the ground control wire at the canister connector to the pcm?

How did you check the ground control wire and get that reading ?You were using dc volts scale on the meter across the two terminals at the vent solenoid? If you got 11 volts across those two terminals thats a issue. The geound side should only be ground when the pcm commands it ground . Otherwise the vent valve would always be closed. With the key in the run position if you plug and unplug the vent valve can you hear the vent valve open and close? It will be a loud click.

Iam not talking about a sensor iam talking about the vent valve which is a valve that vents the tank or closes the tank. Its right there at the fuel filler neck pipe thats the connector where checking correct the one that goes to that? Also thats what you replaced?

Alright let's recap with the key in the run position you have about 11 volts across the vent solenoid connector?I want you to check the wires seperate not together first key in the run position touch the black meter lead to a unpainted metal part of the car. Then red lead to the power wire to the vent solenoid connector what does it read?Next key in same position touch the black lead to a unpainted part of the car touch the red lead to the ground side of the vent solenoid connector. Make sure the meter is set to 200 ohms setting not 200k setting.Let me know what it reads.

So with the key in the run position you got a ground on the power side? Also the ground side shouldn't be a constant ground its controlled by the computer to operate the vent valve. So with the key in the run position and plugging the vent solenoid connector in and out can you hear the vent valve clicking?

Iam completely confused also you said you had battery voltage on the power side and now you say its got 90 ohms to ground with the key in run position.

So with the key in the run position on one of the wires to the vent solenoid connector you dont have battery voltage? Iam really trying to understand what your reading on the wires. The ground side shouldn't show a constant ground all the time. But what doesnt make sense is if you have battery voltage to one wire and a less then 2ohms to the ground wire with the key in the run position. Then why the vent valve doesnt click when you plug and unplug it in.
