The egr shouldnt have vacuum at idle so while the car is idling see if there is vacuum going to the egr valve it self?

ok the problem is the car runs rough and tries to stall everytime i come to a stop well and idles rough with the vacuum hose on the egr valve so i took the hose off and the car runs great but with the vacuum hose off that means that the egr valve is not allowing the gases to go to the intake to burn again i hope i have explained it correct and you would understand

Ok so with the hose removed from the egr valve your problem is solved? Also at idke there is no vacuum to the egr valve? If sounds like your egr valve is sticking when it opens and is still open when coming to stop even though no vacuum is going to it.

Sounds like your describing a bad egr valve it shouldnt act like that.I have seen them with weak return springs so when they open they open too far too fast. Also would make sense when you come to stop the valve isnt fully closed right away so you stall and run rough.

problem fixed it was the egr valve transducer when bad and not the egr valve but thank you for your help (saturntech9) but one last word for those having the same problem locate the transducer and egr valve and use an hand held vacuum pump and test them both

So the transducer was traping vacuum to the egr valve so it was staying open?Thats why you had to look at the egr like i was saying that it sounded like it was staying open.Without looking at cant the reason its happening.

I would start with the code P0108 map sensor voltage too high.Do you have a scan tool that reads live data to read what the map sensor reads with the key in the run position?Thats the first step.

i have a question can a map sensor cause both codes p0106 and p0108 because i bought a map sensor a few weeks ago and put it on and then the egr vavle and transducer and the problem when a way for a few days and then both codes came up and so i did a pressure and volt tst to the map sensor and the new one was bad and the old one was good so i put the old one back in and the car is running good again. should i be look at a nother problem and yes i have a scanner but not sure on how to really run it by the way thank you for taking the time with me to work on my car

Yes the code P0106 is linked to the P0108 code first step in the trouble tree for code P0106 is check the map sensor voltage like i told you to do.What brand and model scan tool do you have?

Bad new map sensor and you could have just had a bad connection to the map sensor before. If there are no codes qnd its running good now leave it alone and see how it goes.

I would say you have a wire going to the map sensor thats close the map sensor that is bad.Probably the copper wire is broken inside the insulation. To me thats the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I missed a word close to the map sensor.Meaning when you unplug or plug in the map sensor connector you disturb the bad wire.
