I mentioned the engine change right before your history lesson. I'm sorry I did not mention it earlier in the conversation. I knew the engine was replaced but only recently figured out the engine was not same as original. I thought both were SL1 engines. The manual mentions the different digit in the VIN (7 vs 8 in the 8th digit) to differentiate DOHC vs SOHC, and MFI vs TBI. It is definitely a twin can engine (says it on valve cover) in a body that is a 1996 SOHC MFI according to the VIN.

Alright where the engine meets the transmission over by where coil mounts are the vin nunbers for the transmission and the engine.I need both those numbers and the part number on pcm.
