runs for 20 seconds then stalls

my 79 chevy van has a problem every time i try to put the pedal to the floor and get her goin she bogs out and dies?

Check the ignition timing and the carb accelerator pump and main metering/power valve-Check the fuel pressure if its within specs

my van runs fine as long as im moving but when i com to a stop it stall it always starts right back up but it also is slugish when you take off what can I do? can I turn up the idle

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? With the engine running, carefully listen for hissing sounds. With the engine off, look for damaged, broken, or disconnected hoses.
