I went over a bump , and 4 yellow lights came on , I've bought a hand held to re sett them , but no good !!,

does the car drive poorly now? will the handheld read the codes? if it drives fine now then you may have just tripped the traction control system momentarily and the handheld may not be able to read that. some only do engine codes
