I was driving to the store and my mini van just quit running as if I turned the key off in mid drive and now will not start. I did check security key and tried to reset code but still nothing. Was thinking maybe ignition control module but swapped that out with a new one and still she sits. What next? Please!

Good morning,

What code? Why did you clear it as it may be a clue to the issue?

Can you hear the fuel pump run with the key on?

Did you check for spark at the plugs while cranking?

I'm sorry. Didn't mean code. I reset the security key itself.

Hello! With 180,000 miles on it, I would suspect a possible failed fuel pump. In my experience, when a GM/Delphi fuel goes, it goes without much warning. What you need to do is check for fuel pressure. Go down to your local auto parts shop and borrow a fuel pressure gauge. Take said gauge and hook it up to the test port at the end of the field rail. Turn the key to the run position and read the gauge. You need at least 41 psi to start your engine. Any less just won't cut it. I was going to get you Alldata's instructions on checking the pressure, but they're pretty technical and require some expensive tools that you probably don't have. Here is our general guide: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Start there and let me know what you find. If the fuel pressure is okay, return the pump and buy a spark tester (costs about $18.00 at the store, worth having around). Here's the one that I have: https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-20610-Inline-Spark-Tester/dp/B0002STSC6

Let me know.
