Will not start

When I press the button to crank it you will hear it click once but everything in the car comes on even the windows will roll down. Tried to jump it off and it did fine. Woke up again this morning and now it won’t start up again, same thing one click but everything comes on. Not sure what to do!

Hi DSWIFE,

This sounds just like a starter failure. The single click and then nothing is the starter gear trying to engage but it is not able to.

I would suggest trying to tap on the the starter solenoid lightly with a small hammer and see if this gets it to engage. This is an old trick with starters and may not work. If it does not work then this does not mean it is still not the starter. However, if it does work then it does confirm the starter.
