Battery keeps dying in cold or if not started daily

It started locking and unlocking doors then we got a second battery from the scrap yard. Now car wont whine or turn over but lights come on . Help we don't have money to take it to mechanic please...

Hi,

What you described sounds like it is related to a weak battery or poor connection. It could even be a bad alternator allowing the battery to get weak.

Do me a favor, I need you to check to make sure the battery terminals are clean, tight, and free of corrosion. I realize you just replaced it, but anything is possible and we need to start at the source, the battery

Next, if you can remove the battery and take it to a parts store, have them load test it to see if it is good. Most will do it for free. If that isn't an option, follow this link:

Do these things first. Also, if you haven't already, make sure the battery is fully charged.

If you don't own a charger, most nationally recognized parts stores will charge it for you at no charge.
