Will not shift out of first gear and dash does not show change

Blown engine swapped out with a replacement, original transmission on new engine. Swap went okay, it runs fine.

It shifts into P, N, R, D, D3, and 2 just fine. However, when in drive, it does not leave first gear. The dash does not show any changes in shifting, it just shows as park. Code read a bad shift solenoid B, replaced it, still same issue.

Hello,

It sounds like the gear range sensor is not working right but we should run the codes to see what come up.

Here is the sensor location so you can check it out. I would remove the connector to check for corrosion. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find.

The only code that has come up is a bad Shift Solenoid B and it was replaced.

Can I get the code number to see if it was a circuit issue or? Lets do a wiring check in the meantime. Check the B solenoid wiring.

Thank you Ken, very much! We didnt know how to properly install the gear range sensor/ neutral safety switch. Got a new one just to make sure we had a good part, got it aligned, and it works flawlessly. My uncle said thank you a hundred times!!
