Intermittent issue of the car not starting?

Engine cranking over? or cranking over and not running? Big difference. I will assume not cranking over. Is this a stick shift or automatic car? Here is a guide to help but it sounds like the neutral safety switch needs to be replaced but to be sure this guide will help check for trigger wire power. That was we can see if it is the starter or the crank circuit.
