Wiring to the alternator

In replacing the alternator to my vehicle, we have discovered that the piece that holds the 2 wires that hook to my alternator may need replaced because one of the wires is too short to hook up to the new alternator- I'm not sure why the wire is too short, but nobody seems to know what this piece that has the 2 wires is called nor how to get a replacement. Could you, please, tell me what this is called and how I can get a replacement so the wires will be long enough to hook to the alternator in my 2003 Saturn vue v6- does 't this piece come new with the new alternator? Thanks!
