wiring from the ignition control box to the coil

We have changed the solenoid, ignition control box, coil and entire distributor. The hot wire from the ignition control box has 12.4 volts and as soon as we hook the hot wire from the box the coil it drops to 6.8 volts and we cannot find the reason why it drops voltage. The truck wont start. The box and coil were tested and were both fine.

Are you sure you are connecting the right wire to the right locations? Why are you hand-wiring the primary ignition circuit? What happened to the harness?

It has a crate engine that was put in I think in 2000 or so.

Here are the wiring diagrams for the engine compartment and instrument panel.

By the way, our reference does not list a 5.6L for that year F250. The closes is a 5.8L.
