Changed fuel pump assembly. I have to cut and splice wires for purge valve. Wiring on the car has three wires, red, brown with red tracer and brown with white tracer.

New fuel pump assembly has three wires, red, black, blue. Which ones should be connected to which? I am assuming red to red, but the others I don’t know.
Thanks

Sure, here are the wiring diagrams for the canister purge valve and the fuel pump with the connector views, check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks for the reply. To clarify I am talking about the sensor on top of the fuel tank, accessible via the right rear wheel well. (Fuel tank Pressure transducer? As seen in your last image) I thought it was called a purge valve. In any case the wire colors are different from my new pump. Thanks in advance for your input.

Incidentally, the fuel gauge is below “E” It worked fine prior to replacing pump. Have about 1/8 tank of fuel. DTE display shows “0 miles”, could this being unplugged have something to do with it?

If the gauge is not working, you will get this message. I would double check the wiring and make sure the connector wiring is in the correct order. I think you are talking about the fuel tank pressure sensor? here is what they look like. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

What message do you get if the gauge isn’t working?

As far as the sensor is concerned, it is the fuel tank pressure sensor. (Transducer)

Just don’t know which wires to connect as the colors are different on two of the three wires.

I don't know if you will get a trouble code if the gauge is not working unless you do a CAN scan. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Did you see the images of the wiring configuration I provided in my last post?

Yes, I did see the diagrams, thanks for that. But I still don’t know which wires would connect to each other. I’m assuming red to red, but the other two???

Black should be the ground which is pnk/org wire. So the fuel pump only has three wires? There need to be four because of the fuel pump control module. I would get the correct pump for it.
