Wire and vacuum hose diagrams?

How can I tell which prong on the idle control valve is the is for the hot wire and which prong is for the single one? and what happens if I hook them up backwards? Do you have a diagram for the vacuum hoses back from the throttle body? and I was control about them and all that.
