Wiper arms keep popping up off the windshield

Hi:

The wiper arm us held tight with a spring and there is a hinge between the mount and the arm. Try to lubricate the hinge so the wiper arm moves freely up and down. Also, confirm the spring under the arm was not damaged.

I attached a pic below and circled the hinge I am referring to. Often times rust or corrosion causes that hinge to become tight and the spring on the opposite side isn't strong enough to pull the arm tight against the glass. Also, it isn't uncommon for the return spring to get too weak.

I checked where the arm bends and I don't have any springs. Looks to be screws of some sort.

That's the problem. The spring is missing. The spring is what holds tension on the wiper arm keeping it tight against the windshield.

Don't laugh, but take a look at the picture attached. It's your picture. In yellow, I indicated where the spring should be. At this point there are two choices. If there is a salvage yard that allows you to remove parts from the vehicles (u-pull it), go there and simply remove the spring or the entire arm from another vehicle like yours. I don't think you can purchase the spring new, but I have been wrong before, so check with the parts store. If the spring isn't available and there is no salvage yard, you need to order a new wiper arm (not the blade).

Also, there is a difference between the left and right. If it's the driver's side, you need the left. I did look up the part number for the left. Here it is:
