If so, what computer or program is used to get the PIN number from it?

Hello,

The wireless ignition node (WIN) module can be programmed. However, it will need special scan tool to perform the task.
Also, you will have to have all the keys present at the time of the programming.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

It is possible to program a used module, but it isn't easy to do because you need a programmer that can read the PIN then once you have that you go in and access it to change the old VIN to the new vehicles number. Most regular scan tools will not work to do this, a couple Autel and Launch models will but they will not read the PIN from the used box. Then once that is done you can program in the keys, however most of the time you need the key(s) that match the module you have as each version of the module has a certain window of keys that will work.
Depending on the issue though you might be able to simply clean the contacts inside the unit and make it work, it is a common issue for them to corrode and cause problems. You still remove the WIN but then you take it a part, de-solder 5 connections to remove the board, then clean the contact tracks and bend the fingers up a bit for better contact. Then solder the connections and reassemble the box.
