Will not start

The other day I tried to start it and it would not start, all it did was make a click and I turned on the ignition. then yesterday I went out was going to get it towed somewhere turn the ignition and it started right up. I turned it off and tried to start it again and I got nothing but click. I am wondering if you could get me a battery dash discharged does the radio and lights and everything are working or does it sound like a starter with a bad spot in the starter? thank you
