Will not start

Good morning.

From the sounds of it, you have a failed governor ring in the injector pump not sending any pressure to the injectors.

You have covered all the bases with the basics.

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the negative battery cables.
2. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Removal.
3. Remove the injection lines. Refer to Injection Lines. See: Fuel Injector Line > Procedures
4. Remove the fuel inlet line from the injection pump.
5. Remove all necessary harness connectors and hoses from the injection pump.
6. Remove the fuel return line at the top of the injection pump.
7. Remove the oil fill tube.
8. Remove the grommet for oil filler tube.
9. Rotate the engine to gain access to the bolts (1) that hold the driven gear to the injection pump. Access is gained through the oil filler neck hole.
10. Remove the driven gear bolts.
11. Remove the injection pump flange nuts. Use wrench J 41069.
12. Remove the injection pump.
13. Cap all open lines and nozzles.
14. Remove the flange gasket.

Hello again.

Well, I just changed the injection pump and have diesel to all injectors and diesel everywhere it should be, but still cannot get it to fire or start. It just cranks and cranks.

Okay, it is air bound.

Start at the fuel filter and have someone crank it and you crack the outlet line while cranking. When you get solid fuel, then go to an injector. Easiest one. Crack the line again while cranking until solid fuel flow. Most likely it will fire up just bleeding one.

Okay, we did all of that. There is fuel to all eight injectors, but still will not start.

Did you bleed out the lines?

Another way is to remove the return line from the pump. It is the line at the front. It is a low pressure line. Remove it and crank it over to be sure there is fuel coming out when cranking.
