Shut off while driving and will not start

truck shut off on way home. had it checked out was told the fuel pump took a dump. so, picked a new one up drop the tank installed the new pump put tank back in gas in it turned over no start. I was told it could be the ignition module could not find it anywhere.

Hi,

First, if it stalled and won't restart, chances are you either lost fuel or spark to the plugs. Here is what I want you to try: See if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know it is a fuel related issue.

If there is no change, check for spark at the plugs. Here is a link that shows how it's done:

As far as the ignition control module is concerned, it is integral with the powertrain control module. That is an expensive part, and why I need to know if you lost spark. Also, there is a higher likelihood that the pickup coil in the distributor failed and is much less expensive to replace.

The pick-up module is located in the distributor and will prevent you from getting spark. I attached a pic below showing it.

Do these tests and let me know the results? I don't want to point you in the wrong direction.
