Will not shift from first gear

My vehicle will only drive if started in first gear, and has to be shut off to stop. Thinking this is a clutch or possibly a throw out bearing issue. Anyone else have this issue or know what it could be? Thanks

Yes, it could be a clutch issue but does the clutch pedal feel any different fro before?

This could be a bad cable from the clutch pedal to the transmission. You can try adjusting the cable to see if it helps. I attached the procedure for you.
