Oil pump not working

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

If the new one stopped working, either something is plugged the pick up screen, the regulator valve has failed, one of the o-rings on the timing chain cover has failed or it isn't installed correctly. However, why are you saying it failed? Are you getting engine noise indicating lack of lubrication or is the light coming on? Also, are there oil leaks anywhere?

Here are the directions for removal and replacement of the pump. Look through them and determine if you did anything different than what is described. Also, make sure the oil pick up isn't plugged as well as the oil gallery to the pump. Finally, I need you to check something for me. If this has an oil cooler which the filter screws on to, remove both the filter and the cooler. Under the cooler is a pressed in pressure regulator that I have seen fall out when removing the cooler. If that happens, you will either have low pressure or no pressure.

1. Remove front cover.
2. Remove oil pump cover.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Always replace oil seals and gaskets with new ones.
- When installing oil pump, apply engine oil to inner and outer gears.
- Use a scraper to remove old liquid gasket from mating surface of front cover.
- Also remove traces of liquid gasket from mating surface of cylinder block.

Since you already have done this, I assume you don't need the directions for timing and disassembly of the engine.

Also, I noticed that when I took out the oil cap there is a lot compressor air is blowing out and yes is lot noise like no oil is lubricant.

That is a good question. Was the engine running properly prior to this problem? As far as air from the oil fill, some is normal. Excessive indicates one of two things, worn compression rings or a faulty Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system.

If this pump failure happened all at once and the engine was fine prior to it, I would try to get this fixed. However, you know the vehicle better than me. If there were issues with the engine prior, then. When I say issues, I'm referring to excessive oil consumption, low power issues, ticking or knocking.
