I changed the two coil packs, clean the mass air flow sensor, it has a new fuel pump. Here is what happens; when your driving it loses power, sputters and dies. so we change the coil packs. When we change then it was idling rough but drove, but then the other day the same thing happened again and it will start, but then dies right away.

try resetting security system if no owners manual look online on how to do it for your truck. if it continues have a mechanic scan for codes as it may be a security module issue.

Hi TAMMIEWILD,

It could be many things causing this but it sounds like it might be the cat converter being plugged up.

Here are a couple of guide that can help you,

and

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

not running right could be anything so you shold start by scanning for codes and checking fuel pressure with a gauge. but when it cuts out after starting immediately that is a sign that it is a security issue. here is an article to help.

I would check fuel pressure also for codes in the codes in the computer. As well as the catalytic converter for being plugged. That will let it run good then loose power and even die if it is plugged enough.

Here is a thought, try disconnecting the TPS and EGR sensor and try it. Let us know how it goes.
