Why is my vehicle making a knocking noise?

Is the noise coming from the engine or is it something you hear when driving? If it is the engine, make sure the engine oil is clean and full. Also, take a look through this link. It discusses different sounds that can come from an engine and what could cause it.

It's somewhat muffled in the video, but I do hear it. Is that coming from the engine compartment? Have you confirmed the engine oil is clean and full? Does the noise speed up with engine speed?
