Whining noise when auto shifting

I get a whining noise when the transmission shifts, especially when travelling up inclines. This happens even at speeds up to sixty mph. The dealer says this is normal for this vehicle, I do not believe them.

it could be just the gear set inside it making noise, we have little information on new cars so you will have to go with what they say.
