Intermittent whining noise from transmission?

Is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? To me, your description sounds like it may be the release-bearing, but that shouldn't cause the clutch itself to overheat. See pic below.

Was the clutch slipping when you noticed the odor?

Also, I forgot to tell you that the clutch is at the end of its life because it engages almost at the top end of the clutch pedal. This is the video.
There are videos on YouTube it shows us how they test the lubricity of engine oil. They use a bearing and a roller, and they put weight on the top and they run the roller. the sound that that test makes same as my car makes.

I listened to the noise. It does sound like a bearing issue. If the clutch is worn, this may be the time to replace it.

I'm not sure if you want to do it yourself or not, but I attached the directions for the removal and installation of the transmission first. After those directions, I included the directions for inspecting and replacing the clutch assembly.

Is there a way to know if it's a clutch bearing or transmission bearing without removing the transmission?

There isn't a way to access it if the transmission is in the vehicle. Keep in mind, that is the only bearing in that area that will be directly affected when you depress the clutch.

I dropped the transmission today. There is no damage to the clutch plate (normal wear the clutch is almost at the rivets) and to the pressure plate. however, the throw out bearing does not spin. So how to make sure that is the throw out bearing that is making noise and not an internal bearing in the transmission aka shaft bearing , gear bearing or others .

If the release bearing doesn't turn, I suspect that is the issue. When you depress the clutch, it doesn't change the pressure on any of the bearings in the transmission itself. Since it can't be turned, that is the most likely cause.

Do me a favor. If possible, take a couple of pics of the release bearing and upload it for me to see.

It looks like it has been there for some time. If that bearing is seized and won't turn, I suspect that is the cause. I wish I could guarantee it, but not being there, is not a good idea for me to do. However, this is certainly my first suspect. (I hope you understand)

I turned the transmission input shaft by hand, and I did not hear the noise. Also, there is no play. The clutch needs to be replaced anyway. I will replace it and let you know.

Hi,

There is a gray connector that connects to the transmission, it's a 2-wire connector. I think is for the backup light. The wire got De-pined when I was trying to put the transmission. Can you give me a diagram of the connector?

If one wire is red with a white tracer and the other is red with a black tracer, the connector is for the backup lights.

With the key in the run position, the red/white wire is the power supply. When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the switch closes and power travels through the red/black wire to the backup lights.

If the wire colors I mentioned above are correct, take a look at pic 1. It should be the correct female connector. In pic 2, it shows what color wire goes to which pin.

That is from the front. That is the section that connects to the male end. Orient the connector in the position shown and the wire colors will match from the rear.

Hi,

success noise is gone. However, there are some broken eggs. First of all, the exhaust manifold is broken, there is a massive exhaust leak and noise. That was my fault, I had to bend the exhaust manifold bracket connecting it to the engine. By doing that the exhaust is cracked and needs to be replaced. Second, the clutch pedal feels soft.

As far as the clutch pedal is concerned, make sure there is no air in the system. The exhaust is a different story. LOL
